The librarian led the morning announcement crew throughout the year. She helped students broadcast the announcements using Zoom, a camera, and microphones. She also assisted the announcement crew in writing the script and preparing the slideshow. In addition, the librarian supervised the technology cart checkout team and the library helper team that picked up library books throughout the school.
Preschool-aged children were invited to the Stone Oak Library for three preschool storytimes. Each time they listened to a read-aloud, sang songs, danced, and made crafts related to the story or theme of the event.
With the help of our amazing volunteers, the library hosted two book fairs to promote reading and community involvement. Each book fair had an after school event where parents could come with their children to purchase books. The almost $9000 raised at the book fairs will be used to buy more books and supplies.
The librarian presented staff development on incorporating PebbleGo, PebbleGo Next, Capstone eBooks, CultureGrams, and News-O-Matic into their lessons for students. Teachers were also taught how to use their new Chromebooks in a meaningful way in their classrooms.
