The librarian was in charge of this event, and the family specialist was the liaison between the campus and the Laurels. The residents always enjoy seeing the fantastic creations every year right before Halloween.
    • Kinder participated in a two-week-long unit focusing on Dr. Seuss for Read Across America Week. The librarian collaborated with the district reading specialist and the Kinder teachers to create stations for the students to rotate through. Each student was able to read multiple Dr. Seuss books, match rhyming words on green egg puzzle pieces, use positional words to place different Dr. Seuss characters in places, write a sentence about, and draw a picture of their favorite Dr. Seuss character.
    • They then got to make their drawing of their favorite character come alive by using Chatterpix where their character reads their sentence, and take their picture with a Dr. Seuss happy birthday sign to hang outside of their classroom at the end of the unit. Each student strengthened their knowledge in rhyming, positional words, writing a sentence, and using technology to enhance their writing.
