    • The teacher-librarian curated seasonal book sets (including both well-known and new diverse titles) to be shared between classes and grade levels as read alouds. Themes included Spooktacular Reads, Season’s Readings, and Love your Library. When appropriate optional discussion questions and simple retelling activities were made available.
    • The teacher-librarian coordinated the book character pumpkin patch. Students love to showcase their favorite characters by decorating or drawing a pumpkin-shaped representation of a favorite book.
    • The teacher-librarian modeled virtual author visit integration with enrichment student groups. We discussed Aaron Reynolds’s books beforehand, listened to him talk about his newest series, got excited about related media, and discussed similar titles.
    • The teacher-librarian coordinated a lunchtime audiobook club. Students voted on a title and came to the library to listen to and discuss the award-winning book Pax (by Sara Pennypacker) along with enjoying lunch together!
    • The teacher-librarian opens the library before school at 7:15 am each morning. Depending on the day we might have drop-in students returning and checking out new books, PreK students reading while they wait for their teachers, students producing the morning announcements, or maker mornings full of STREAM activities.
