KSAT’s NASA Student Launch Team presents at STEM Convention
KSAT’s (Krueger School of Applied Technologies) NASA Student Launch team presented last week at the 8th Annual CORE4 STEM Convention. This is KSAT’s 4th year presenting at this event. The students engaged other students in an activity involving Newton’s Laws. One question was the focus of the presentation. Does mass affect acceleration? They ran balloons down zip lines and collected data. They were then able to do calculations for speed and acceleration to prove or disprove their hypothesis.
The KSAT NASA Student Launch Team is: Tristan, Jon, Moeen, Ricardo, Nathan, Alana, Abby, Kylie, Megan, Jaycie, and Elizabeth
Hosted by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, according to the organization’s website, the CORE4 STEM Program is a three-day celebration of education and career opportunities in “STEM”—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. CORE4’s mission is to stimulate students’ interest in the sciences and lead them to discoveries about their own potential in these areas and provides immersion in the excitement, surprise, and fun inherent in the sciences. The CORE4 Expo brings students, parents, and educators together with high-profile STEM professionals, corporations, government agencies, universities, and colleges.
