LEE dance mom loves giving back
National Volunteer Week is celebrated every April and recognizes the contributions of volunteers to our communities. North East ISD has a dedicated group of school volunteers, including Michaelia Brown.
She is a parent volunteer at Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School and helps support the LEE Darling Drillers junior varsity drill team.
Her daughter is a member of the drill team, so it’s extra special to be able to share this time with her.
“The years go so fast. I want to enjoy every moment. I want the kids to know I'll always cheer them on and I'll always be in their corner. I love my dance babies!" said Brown.
Volunteering at NEISD is an excellent way for parents to support their child’s school and spend quality time with their children. It’s an activity that benefits volunteers as much as the recipients of their talents.
School volunteers can take leadership roles to support students, cheer them on at a performance or high-five them after a game. Every type of support makes a difference.
Public schools rely on the support of its community members, and North East ISD is always looking for new volunteers to assist in whatever capacity they can.
