NEISD students donate 1,500 caps to kids with cancer

“How do you pay it forward to those who are less fortunate?”

Coaches from Ed White and Nimitz Middle Schools dropped off 1,500 caps to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSA) -- the result of a donation drive to collect caps for kids with cancer.

Over the past few weeks, students brought in caps and beanies to give to other kids battling cancer. It was a lesson in compassion that students on both sides of this donation won’t soon forget.

Aaron Sugalski, a Pediatric Oncologist at UTHSA, was especially appreciative of the caps. He tweeted a picture of the cap donation with the caption, “Hats Off to your awesome kids from my kids!!”

Thank you to our coaches for teaching compassion #theNEISDway
