Celebrating our 2023 Summa Cum Laude Students - Madison High School

North East ISD is proud to celebrate the Summa Cum Laude students at Madison High School. These ceremonies honor the incredible accomplishments of the dedicated students who are graduating from high school with grade point averages above 100. These young men and women mastered every academic test we placed before them and exceeded the highest standards, but they wouldn’t be here without the teachers who inspired them.
Londyn Hall is one of Madison’s exceptional Summa candidates. Tonight, she will honor her Coach, Quentin Iglehart-Summers.
Londyn Hall honoring Coach Quentin Iglehart-Summers
Coach Summers took me in as a sophomore with no track experience, having faith in me when I did not have faith in myself. The unwavering motivation I have received from him has undoubtedly kept me going when times get tough. I learned almost all things are mind over matter, and ultimately the sacrifice is worth the reward. The lessons and mantras that Coach has ingrained into my brain have stuck with me not only because of their meanings but because of the person who shared them with me. Because of Coach Summers’s emphasis on academics and athletics, I have had success in running and field events the past three years. I am standing before you with multiple academic and athletic scholarships. I am grateful to him for recognizing my talents and putting up with me long enough to develop them.

Jacob Day honoring Mr. Robert Cummings
My teacher of choice to honor is none other than Mr. Cummings, an instructor for Chemistry and advanced Chemistry here at Madison High School. It is no surprise that his stylized and meticulous methodology for his lessons or his sensible regard for his students makes him well-received and valued as a teacher and a person. I feel that his lens, which he uses to understand and perceive the world, is a dynamic tool which he passes to his students. And all due to his generosity to teach, I have never been more confident of my future in pursuing higher education.
Congratulations to the Class of 2023!
Madison’s Summa celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023
