Healing Through Conversation: A Panel Discussion on PTSD

Description

MacArthur students in red In association with Mental Health and Awareness Month, the MacArthur High School MacTEACH PTSD Ambassadors invite you to join them at their "Healing Through Conversation: A Panel Discussion on PTSD. " The MacTEACH PTSD Ambassadors welcome you to a conversation-style forum whereby MacTEACH students engage local military veterans in inspired conversation for the purpose of lifting the veil from the issue of PTSD and how we, as a community, can best coincide within its framework by choosing to share, learn, grow, and act. In association with WISH for OUR HEROES; Camp Hope PTSD Foundation of America Outreach; The Pink Berets, and the Academy for Teacher Excellence Research Center under the College of Education and Human Development at The University of Texas at San Antonio; the MacTEACH PTSD Ambassadors seek to educate students, and adults alike, in order to prevent further insensitivity and ignorance when confronting those struggling with PTSD.

Events such as this fall directly within the mission of MacTEACH. Fundamentally, MacTEACH believes every student matters - all persons matter. Thus, we strive to assist where we can academically, socially, and from the humanitarian perspective. As an outreach program, Mac-TEACH enthusiastically embraces humanitarian and outreach efforts within the local community and communities far beyond the Douglas MacArthur High School campus, especially where the oppressed are concerned.
