Dr. Donna Newman's Biography
Dr. Donna Newman began teaching in Laredo, Texas in 1981. She joined the North East family in 1991 as a 5th Grade teacher at East Terrell Hills Elementary School. She was named principal of El Dorado Elementary in 2000. Prior to leaving North East in 2010, Dr. Newman was Principal at Garner Middle School, where she received the Terrel H. Bell Award for outstanding school leadership. She rejoined North East ISD in 2011 as Executive Director for School Administration and was hired as the Associate Superintendent of Campus Administration and Human Resources in 2013 and became the Associate Superintendent for Instruction and Campus Administration in 2017.
Dr. Newman received her Bachelor's degree in 1981 and Master of Science degree in 1984 in Elementary Education/History, both from Laredo State University. Additionally, she earned her Doctorate of Education degree in Public School Administration from Texas A&M University, College Station, in 2007.
