Mrs. Katie Williams

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am so excited to begin my first year at Vineyard Ranch. This is my first year in NEISD and my 12th year teaching.

Since graduating from Western Oregon University in 2008, I’ve taught in a variety of roles within elementary schools around the world. My pride in each role has come from the connections I’ve made with students, teachers, and the community. While teaching English in South Korea, I found a friendly smile the most effective strategy for building relationships when language was a barrier. While teaching ESL in New York, I discovered that taking time to learn about each individual family and culture allowed me to give students new to the country a feeling of safety and belonging. And while working in Northside ISD, I was given the opportunity to make connections across the district as a 5th grade teacher, a GT teacher, and a STEM teacher. A few examples of these connections I made were coaching a championship robotics team, organizing family STEAM nights, and empowering students to share their voice at the Expo of Engaged Learning.

I am excited for opportunity to connect with Vineyard Ranch Elementary School. I want to connect with the students by providing excellent enrichment instruction to both gifted and advanced students. I want to connect with teachers and staff by providing leadership and coaching in the area of student enrichment and thinking. But most of all, I want to connect with the whole community by being present, involved, and engaged at school functions both in and outside of my classroom.

I am a wife and mom to 2 amazing little girls. My oldest is 4 and my youngest is 1. We enjoy adventures outside, exploring with our imagination, and traveling to new and exciting places.

  • Referral for GT Services

Parents, teachers, counselors, or administrative personnel may refer a student for GT services. Not all students who are referred for testing may qualify for services. To qualify, students must demonstrate an academic need for enrichment and must score in the 95 percentile or higher on the majority of nationally normed testing administered.
