Hi there!

I was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and raised on cheese, pizza, and brats. I graduated from Carthage College in 2014; a small campus located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, just minutes away from the home I grew up in. After graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, I decided it was time to leave my hometown for the mountains of Colorado. While in Colorado, I began my teaching career as a Special Education Para Professional. I then taught 1st grade before landing in 4th grade, where I taught for four years. After five years in the suburbs of Denver, my husband accepted a position with UTSA (Birds up!). We then packed up our lives for a move to sunny San Antonio. After teaching Special Education for 3 years at Jackson-Keller I decided to make my way back into the classroom where I am now teaching 5th grade Science. 

In my free time, you can find me wandering the aisles at the local garden stores, or at home cooking up a storm or playing with my dogs - Pluto and Murphy. 

Fun fact: I have traveled to 12 countries! I am grateful to have experienced spending three weeks in South Africa and going on an African safari. I also spent two weeks traveling around the South Pacific. While in the South Pacific, I was able to experience all that Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji had to offer!
