Mrs. Ashly Womack

Hello! My name is Ashly Womack and I am the 5th grade Special Education Co-Teacher. This is my second year at Harmony Hills and I'm so excited to be back.

I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I have always wanted to work to empower people and help them see in themselves what others see. I worked as a foster care case manager for a little over two years before my husband and I decided to make the move to San Antonio in 2012. At that time, I made the switch to working in home health therapy, as an early interventionist. I spent over six years working with children under the age of three with delayed milestones, helping them to meet their goals and connecting their families to resources in the community. I absolutely loved this job but was ready to try something new and education seemed like the right fit.

I am now attending University of Texas of the Permian Basin to obtain my Master's degree in Special Education. I love the challenge of working in a classroom, alongside other teachers, to see what works best for each individual student to see success, both in the classroom, and out of it. I think parents and extended family members are a huge part of this equation and, when we work together, I know we can achieve great things.

When I'm not teaching in a classroom or learning in a classroom, I am with my family. My husband and I have one precocious four year old and we love to take hikes and go on adventures.

I can't wait to see what 2019-2020 has in store for us, but I know it's going to be a wonderful school year!
