Shane Wanner

Hello Wranglers!

My name is Shane Wanner. I was born and raised in Billings, MT. From the day I could walk I was always interested in playing sports.  At a young age I played football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.  As I grew into a young man, baseball was the only sport I wanted to focus on.  After graduating from high school, I went to college at Montana State University for a few years but not being able to settle on a specific degree path I chose to take a break.   Many years later after following my girlfriend to Med school in Omaha, NE; becoming engaged and moving to San Antonio, TX I went back to school to get a degree in Education from Texas A&M San Antonio.  Directly following college, I began teaching at Wood MS.  As last year being my first-year teaching in the classroom (and a challenging year it was with the start of COVID) it was a great first year.  With the first year of experience under my belt I am excited for what the new year holds and cannot wait to meet all my new students.  I am currently teaching 6th Grade Social Studies, and coach 8th Grade Football, Basketball, and Track.

I am married to my beautiful wife, Tayt, who I met 13 years ago in high school. We have been married for 3 years and recently had our first child, a baby boy, Nash.  We are very excited for this new chapter in our lives and I am sure you will hear me talk about him multiple times throughout the year.  I love doing just about anything outdoors from boating to hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping; being from Montana has made the outdoors a special place for me.
