EC-12 Music Bachelor of Music, 2008 Master of Music, 2014 Kodály Certification, 2021

Mrs. Elena Magallanes

This is my 14th year as Music educator and though I hail from Canton, Ohio (home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame) all of my teaching experience has been in Texas. I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Bowling Green State University in 2008 and my Master of Music in Music Education from Texas State University in 2014. As an instrumental specialist I've had many wonderful experiences in a variety of ensembles at all levels and look forward to incorporating that into my classroom. I completed my Kodály certification through the Texas State University/Hays CISD program in July 2021 and regularly incorporate these teachings into my classroom.

When not in the classroom, you can find me spending quality time in the garden or in the kitchen with my husband, my 3 cats, and our 2 dachshunds. I also serve as Member Advocate on the board of the professional organization Kodály Educators of Texas. As if I didn't keep myself busy enough already, I am a volunteer, adoption counselor, and board member of the Bulverde-based group Animal Rescue Connections. Our organization works as a compassionate advocate for animals by fostering, adopting out, and providing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for cats.
