Mrs. Brandi McKinney

Hi, my name is Brandi McKinney and I love teaching Pre-K here at Hardy Oak Elementary.

Preschool creates the foundation for the love of learning and provides the developmental milestones needed for each child to reach their optimal potiential.  I feel very fortunate to be able to love and teach each child.

This is my 9th year at Hardy Oak.  Before teaching Pre-K I was the campus Redirection Behavior Specialist & a special education resource teacher.  I have also worked as an inclusion teacher for kindergarten, second and fifth grade.

I have two master’s degrees from Wayland Baptist University; one is in Special Education and the second is in Education/Human Resources. My bachelor's degree is in Early Childhood Education.

Prior to teaching, I was in the United States Air Force for 15 years and worked in Human Resources management, Recruitment and Training.

I am married with two beautiful children. My husband Carl is the Athletic Director for Nixon Smiley ISD and head basketball coach.  He played professional basketball prior to that, so sports is something I can't get away from. My son Noah, is 21 years old and is in the United States Air Force stationed out in Destin, FL and my daughter Alexis is 17 and a senior at Reagan High School.  I couldn’t be prouder of each of them.

I love anything outdoors, traveling, running, hiking, mud-runs, camping and spending time with my family.
