Mrs. Brandi McKinney
Hi, my name is Brandi McKinney and I am so excited to spearhead the new Pre-K program here at Hardy Oak Elementary.
Preschool creates the foundation for the love of learning and provides the developmental milestones needed for each child to reach their optimal potiential. I feel very fortunate to be able to love and teach each child. Your babies are my babies as well!
I have been at Hardy Oak for the past 8 years as a Redirection Behavior Specialist & Special Education Resource Teacher. I have also worked as an inclusion teacher for kindergarten, second and fifth grade.
I have two master’s degrees from Wayland Baptist University; one is in Special Education and the second is in Education/Human Resources. My bachelor's degree is in Early Childhood Education.
Prior to teaching, I was in the United States Air Force for 14 years and worked in Human Resources management, Recruitment and Training.
I am married with two beautiful children. My husband Carl is the Athletic Director for Nixon Smiley ISD and head basketball coach. He played professional basketball proir to that, so sports is something I can't get away from. My son Noah, is 20 years old and is in the United States Air Force stationed out in Destin, FL and my daughter Alexis is 16 years old and on the Reagan dance team. I couldn’t be prouder of each of them.
I love anything outdoors, traveling, running, hiking, mud-runs, camping and spending time with my family.
