Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Veronica Escobedo
Hello, fellow Larkspur Leopards!!
I'm Mrs. Escobedo, and this will be my 22nd year in the wonderful field of education! I'm so excited to join this fabulous campus family!
I've had a great time preparing for the classroom! I received my bacherlor's degree in liberal arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in special education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I've also attended loads of professional development sessions, and have useful experience in initiatives such as PBIS.
I've learned so much from being in the classroom, too! I've spent most of my career teaching students in the special education program, but was also a general education teacher for six of those years (Kinder, PK, and 4th). What a fun journey I've had, and I'm happy to bring those years of experiences to our Larkspur table.
I've got a super interesting husband who works at the San Antonio Zoo and keeps fascinating hobbies going all the time. (He even drove the Weinermobile for a year after graduating from UT!) I have three loveable dogs named Gumball, Leela, and Duckie. They keep me busy and happy! You can usually see me taking them for walks in the evening. I love creating natural habitats in my backyard for local birds, critters, and insects--especially monarch butterflies! I'm a big fan of native plant gardening and xeriscaping! Also, I love reading (and also listening to) books of all kinds. I adore poetry, and sometimes write it. I'm hoping to publish a book of children's poetry one day.
I look forward to a super school year and hope we get to meet each other soon! Go, Larkspur Leopards, Go!! :)
