Welcome back to the new school year!

I am so excited to be returning to Special Education as an Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) teacher. I have previously worked with the district for three years in Special Education and I am grateful to be a part of the Roan Forest family.

The students I am blessed to work with are my reason for doing what I do. I love teaching in ALE and helping children gain independence and a core belief in themselves.

Our "working" class motto is-

"We are SMART. We are STRONG. We are KIND. Together we are UNSTOPPABLE!"

To help children has always been a passion of mine, although it hasn't always been my career. I graduated in 2006 from Valdosta State University with a BA in Philosophy. I worked customer services for many years and then after my first daughter was born, I decided if I am going to return to the workforce it needed to be for something I am passionate about.

Teaching was my passion! I got my alternative certification through Texas Teachers and haven't looked back since. My daughters are now 6 and 4 years old and the timing is just right for me to return to teaching this year. Feel free to contact me for any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year. I am always happy to help.
