Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! Welcome to another wonderful year of school in NEISD. I am Mrs. Azille. I teach 6th grade English and Reading. This year, my students will be immersed in reading and writing and all things involved in English Language Arts. We will work on sharpening reading comprehension and writing process skills. This class is unique to other classes because we meet for 2 class periods, that's right, we will spend 100 minutes together each day! Reading and Writing go hand in hand and my goal is to help students learn more about both as they grow as readers and writers. It is my hope that students will enjoy coming to my class and giving their best efforts to learn.
I love learning! I have an English degree from UMass Boston. I have a Master's degree of Education in Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word. I am currently a doctoral candidate at Liberty University online for Curriculum Specialist. This will be my 15th year in education. I have taught all grades from pre-K to seniors in high school. My certification is in grades 6-12 ELAR.
I am an author. My first book is titled The Adventures of Mr. Turtle. I am currently working on my second book.
I have 4 children: two adult sons, Richie and AJ, a son in 5th grade named Sean, and a three year old daughter named Ally. (She is the original Boss Baby). Richie is a senior at UTSA and AJ is in the Airforce.
We have an Olde English Bulldog named Oreo and our pet turtle who is a Yellow Belly Slider.
I am happily married to my husband who is from Dominica. Our family enjoys island music and Carribean food.
I love to write and I look forward to writing more stories with my students this year!
I am also the UIL spelling Coach, please ask me about UIL. We would love you have your child on the Driscoll team this year!
