Mr. Derrek Cabrera

Mr.Cabrera is in his fifth year as a music educator. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While at UT-San Antonio, Mr.Cabrera performed as a tenor trombone player in the UTSA Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and Trombone Choir along with various ensembles around the greater San Antonio area. He has studied trombone privately with Ron Wilkins, Peter Kline and Dr.Steve Parker. Prior to arriving to Garner, he had success as a High School Band Director and has taught grades 5-12. He is excited to welcome and teach all the students in the band program at Garner Middle School and looks forward to helping students become model citizens and musicians.

Once done, please print the last page of both documents, sign and return to the Band Directors as soon as possible. If you do not have printing capabilities available to you, we will provide the signatures forms to your student to take home.
