Mr. Joseph Espinoza
Mr. Espinoza is a native of San Antonio, where he graduated from Highlands High School. Mr. Espinoza earned his bachelor's in Music Education from Texas State University in 2016. In the Spring of 2016, Mr. Espinoza student taught with the Winston Churchill High School Band under the guidance of Mr. Tony Ruiz. Upon graduation, Mr. Espinoza received the distinguished honor of Outstanding Student in Instrumental Music Education from Texas State University.
Mr. Espinoza has taught multiple woodwind masterclasses in Northside ISD, San Antonio ISD, and North East ISD. He has also served as a marching technician at Burbank High School for the 2014 and 2015 seasons and has judged multiple Drum Major auditions in San Antonio ISD, Northside ISD, and Harlandale ISD.
Mr. Espinoza started his career at John Jay High School in Northside ISD, where he was in charge of both woodwind and percussion sections. During his two years at John Jay High School, Mr. Espinoza also performed with Fiesta Flutes. Mr. Espinoza’s professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.
Mr. Espinoza is in his fourth year as an Assistant Band Director at Winston Churchill High School. Mr. Espinoza teaches all woodwind sections in the band, Symphonic Band, and some sections of Instrumental Ensemble

Fall: Tutoring/Office Hours: 8:00 - 8: 45
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to seek out Mr. Espinoza during his tutoring time. The Band Hall will be opened as early as 7:30 every day in order to have a place for students to practice, take lessons or ask Mr. Espinoza or any of the Band Directors for help!
Spring: Sectionals (Schedule TBA in December)
The Symphonic Band will utilize the morning time with sectionals. Each student in the Symphonic Band will need to complete sectionals/pass-offs with Mr. Espinoza in the morning. Sectionals will be from 8:00-8:45 beginning in the Spring in order to prepare for the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation.
