The AMP offers the opportunity for potential students to be partnered with a current AMP student to experience our program up close and personal. This 3-hour long opportunity will allow potential students the ability to attend several AMP classes and get a behind-the-scenes look at our experiential laboratories and facilities.
Shadowing opportunities must be scheduled in advance and are only available on the published dates.
The available dates are November 16, 2017, December 7, 2017, and January 11, 2018. We have the capacity to host 15 students on each of the above dates, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Every online interest form submitted is reviewed. You will be contacted regarding any additional documentation needed, if applicable. Submitting an online interest form to the AMP program does not constitute automatic entry.
After submitting the online AMP Student Enrollment Form, students should next complete the Kuder Navigator Assessment (a college and career planning tool).
The Kuder Navigator Assessment is comprised of two (7th - 8th grade) or three (9th - 12th grade) individual assessments in the areas of career interests and skills confidence and will take approximately 20 minutes on each area to complete.
Registration instructions to access the assessment may be downloaded below. To begin the assessment, go to LaunchPad.
Once all information has been submitted Program representative will contact all students regarding their acceptance status by Mid-January.
Students accepted into the AMP for the 2018-2019 school year must attend the AMP Open House Night on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 6:00pm to complete course selection sheets and magnet contracts.
Thank you for applying to AMP!
Potential AMP Students
The Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP) on the James Madison High School Campus is available to high school students in the North East Independent School District who have an interest in studying the many facets of agriculture science and participating in the FFA youth leadership organization.
The priority enrollment period for the 2018 - 2019 school year is from October 16, 2017 through January 15, 2018 for current 8th graders that reside within the North East ISD. Interested students may submit an enrollment after January 15, 2018 but will only be considered for enrollment as space is available.
The AMP may accept a limited number of enrollments from current 9th or 10th graders by way of transfer from other high schools in North East ISD for the 2018-2019 school year, dependent upon availability of space.
