As a child I grew up in different parts of the US due to my father being in the Navy. When my father retired from the Navy we moved to College Station, TX. I graduated from A&M Consolidated HS in 1999. I then attended Blinn College in Bryan, TX for 2 years. I transferred to Sam Houston State University in the fall of 2001. I graduated at the end of the summer in 2004. I went on to teach 2-year olds at a daycare and then subbed for Bryan ISD for a year. It was there that I landed a position with an ALE class whose teacher was retiring at the end of the year. It was while subbing for that class that I fell in love with the students and realized that I wanted to work in Special Education. After paying off my student loans I started working on my Alternative Certification for Special Education (EC-12) and Core Subjects (EC-6).
In my spare time, aside from relaxing, I work out. My boyfriend holds me accountable in this area of my life. We work out 6-7 times a week. We are also in the process of building a camper, along with other side projects. We enjoy camping, hiking and fishing, too. We are both artsy and crafty. I am also an Aunt to 2 nephews and 2 nieces. They definitely keep me on my toes with their activities and imagination.
I am really excited to be here and furthering my knowledge on teaching. All my students always have a special place in my heart. I look forward to seeing the grow and succeed in the classroom.
