As a child I grew up in different parts of the US due to my father being in the Navy. When my father retired from the Navy, we moved to College Station, TX.  I graduated from A&M Consolidated HS in 1999.  I then attended Blinn College in Bryan, TX for 2 years, where I obtained an Associates of Science in Social Sciences.  I transferred to Sam Houston State University in the fall of 2001.  I graduated at the end of the summer in 2004.  I went on to teach 2-year olds at a daycare and then subbed for Bryan ISD for a year (2006-2007).  It was there that I landed a position with an ALE class whose teacher was retiring at the end of the year.  While subbing for that class, I fell in love with the students and realized that I wanted to work in Special Education.  I started working on my Alternative Certification for Special Education (EC-12) and Core Subjects (EC-6) in 2017 and successfully completed the program in February 2019.

In April 2008, I started working with Northeast ISD as a KIN Director, both assigned to a site and also floating from school to school.  In February 2018, I was hired at Lopez Middle School as a Special Education Teacher and absolutely enjoy it.

This year brings a very exciting event to my life.  In March, I will become Mrs. Abrams.  My fiance and I have been busy wedding planning and crafting since he proposed October 24, 2021.  

Aside from wedding planning, in our free time my fiance and I hold each other accountable for our workouts, which happen 6-7 times a week.  We built a teardrop camper together and enjoy every opportunity we have to take it out and camp at different state parks.  We enjoy camping, hiking and fishing.  We are both artsy and crafty people and love doing DIY projects. I am also an Aunt to 3 nephews and 2 nieces.  They definitely keep me on my toes with their activities and imagination.

I am excited to welcome back our returning friends and welcoming our new friends into our Panther family.  I can't wait to see everyone!
