Ms. Salinas-Weld

Ms. Salinas-Weld has been teaching for almost ten years and has been part of the LEE family since 2017. She has taught courses in History, English, Academic Literacy, and Practical writing. Currently she teaches English II and English II Honors. She earned a B.A. in History and a minor in English from UTSA, an A.S. in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and is currently working on her M.Ed. in Learning, Design, and Technology at the University of Houston. Ms. Salinas specializes in developing positive teacher-student relationships and building a classroom culture of encouragement and trust. Her professional interests include creating relevant and meaningful content for her diverse student population, writing workshops, visual literacy initiatives and multimedia applications.

In her free time she is either nerding out over another stack of books she's bought, going on hikes with her family (when it's not 100 degrees), or trying to understand the next big app/game her kids are into. Right now it is Tik Tok (she still doesn't get it).
