Mel Toscano

Born in Mexico City and raised in Hermosillo, Sonora. San Antonio has been my home for over 10 years, where I've been contributing bilingual services as a broadcasting production assistant and Spanish translator. Traveling and photography are my inspirations. I have been blessed to present media works at Mexico's 1st Foundry Photojournalism Workshop (Teatro de Sordos), Esperanza Center (Si Yo Viviera for the Nos(otros) ¡Somos! performance), The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word (Ventanas a la Salud for the co-production of Peruvian Parish Radio programs), and The Ranger College Newspaper of San Antonio College.

I'm so thankful to be following my mom's heart and footsteps as an educator. She retired happily as a kindergarten bilingual teacher in Mexico. This will be my first year at Jackson Middle School and I'm very excited about teaching Spanish!
