CREATING AND LEADING BRIGHT FUTURES!!!!
My name is Abigail Wood. (Ms. Wood) This will be my very first year teaching in which I am so excited about. I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Texas A&M San Antonio this past May with my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies, certified in Early Childhood through 6th grade. During my time as a student teacher, which was for 3 semesters, I got the opportunity to become a patriot, here at Royal Ridge. I student taught 4th grade, so I am very excited to be able to continue my journey as a 4th grade teacher.
As your childs teacher, I feel it is important to provide a comfortable, safe, and welcoming classroom community. This year we will be growing tremendously in our academics, and you are going to see your child blossom so much. In my classroom we are creating and leading BRIGHT FUTURES!
I am originally from Florida, but have been in the San Antonio area for about 14 years. Other than my mom, step-dad, and younger brother, all of my family lives in Florida. I was a product of NEISD up to my freshman year of high school. I attended Bush Middle School and Reagan High School until my family and I moved out in the Spring Branch area. Therefore, I attended and graduated from Smithson Valley High School. GO RANGERS!!!
During my last two years as a high school student, I got the opportunity to be in the Ready, Set TEACH program in which I student taught 4th grade at Arlon Seay Elementary. I also got to partake in the FCCLA Ready Set Teach Competition in which I taught 4th grade lesson plans to teachers from around the state. I won 5th in the Region and 4th in the state of TEXAS.
~Let's just say 4th grade is my jam!!!!~

Matthew, my fiance, is a compliance officer at JP Morgan Chase. He attended Texas A&M and UTSA, graduating from UTSA with his Masters in Finance. We will be getting married in March of 2018 which I am very excited about.
I have a brother whom just turned 16 years old that attends Smithson Valley High School, and is currently on the football team...GO RANGERS!!! My other brother is a meterologist in the United States Air Force, and just came home from over seas. He has two little boys which makes me a proud aunt!!
