Ms. Terri Carnes

Welcome back to Lee!!!

Hello Volunteers!  My name is Terri Carnes and I teach ASL I ,II , III, and IV.  A little about myself.  I grew up and graduated from Hondo High School.  After graduation, I attended Texas State University in San Marcos.  While attending college, I took American Sign Language 1-4 to fulfill my foreign language   requirement.  That opened the door to many ongoing opportunities.  I immediately began working in Austin with Deaf adults and within a year, I got my ASL Interpreters Certification and began free lance interpreting around the area.  I received my degree in Psychology and returned to UTSA to get my teachers certification in ASL.  After having my two children,  I moved back to my hometown of Hondo and raise them in the comfort of a small town.  Since then, I have worked at South San and Harlandale districts teaching ASL.

I am super excited in meeting each and everyone of you.  I am very passionate about teaching ASL and Deaf culture and hope I can light that passion for you as well.

I hope you have a wonderful year!
