Counselor's Corner

  • A Note from Ms. Vacek ~

Dellview is a Leader in Me Lighthouse School. Leader in Me is an evidence-based, social-emotional learning process that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Lighthouse certification is earned for outstanding achievement. There are    Leader in Me schools across the United States, but only 300 schools around the world have earned the Leader in Me Lighthouse status.

Our students are working on the following skills: leadership, student self confidence, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, communication, creativity, problem solving, and social etiquette.

You may find your child coming home and talking to you about the 7 Habits. The 7 Habits help children and adults be successful in their daily lives. Ask your child which Habit(s) they showed at school today. You can also ask your child which Habit they need to work on. In their student agenda, your child should be reflecting daily on which Habit(s) they did well in and which Habit(s) they are going to work on for the next day. You can also support your child by helping them set and achieve goals at home that align with their Dellview leadership goals.

I love the 7 Habits and how they help every child be the best student they can be. My goal is to provide love, support, guidance, and encouragement to ensure all Dellview students are successful Leaders!

Ms. Beth Vacek

I have had the pleasure of being a Dellview Dolphin for nine years! I feel honored to be on a campus with precious parents, a fabulous faculty, and SUPER STAR students!!!! It is a blessing to actually be able to say, "I LOVE what I do" . . . which is helping your kids! I truly love being a school counselor. I am afforded the awesome opportunity of empowering children every day to become responsible and productive lifelong learners!

I am truly a product of Northeast Independent School District. I attended Ridgeview Elementary, Garner Middle School, and MacArthur High School. I got my BBA (Petroleum Land Management) from UT Austin and my Master of Arts (Counseling) from UT San Antonio. I have worked in North East ISD for 27 years.
