Mr. Travis Engler
Greetings, my name is Travis Engler and I am the Technology Education Teacher at Harris Middle School. My students use numerous pieces of technology to create original works, solve problems, apply engineering concepts, find information, and prepare for their future.
My teaching career began in 2001 in Judson ISD. For five years I taught Woodshop and Engineering classes in two different middle schools to the students of Judson ISD. In 2006 I was hired as the Technology Teacher for the newly built Harris Middle School in NEISD. I have had the privilege of serving the Harris community for the thiteen years the school has been open. In eighteen years of education, my classroom has changed from a shop with bandsaws and drill presses to a computer lab with 3D printers and engineering simulators. I am proud that my students are able to utilize state-of-the-industry resources in my classroom as they learn important concepts in digital creation and engineering.
As a technology teacher, I believe that the devices and software that we use are tools to express our ideas and expertise. Our preparation for the future will be shown by our ability to create digital works and apply engineering principles using the technology tools of now and the future.
