I am so excited to be a Las Lomas Lion this year! I am beginning my 25th year of teaching. I have taught 5th graders for two summers and spent the past 24 school years teaching middle school reading. My first 6 years were in Judson ISD, then I had the privilege of opening Tejeda Middle School and taught there the past 18 years. I enjoyed serving as department chair and had an abundance of amazing students. I love teaching higher level thinking skills and digging deeper into literature. Good readers are good thinkers and writing is an art!
My husband is an educator as well and teaches P.E. at Salinas Elementary School in Judson ISD. We are blessed with two daughters - our oldest is a senior at Texas State University and our youngest is a sophomore at UTSA. I enjoy spending time with my family, outdoor activities, and of course ... reading!
We have a puppy named "Cooper" who is a German Shepherd mix that we rescued this past year. He has endless energy and we are still working on "puppy manners".
