Ms. Julie Schievelbein
I am so excited to be a Las Lomas Lion again this year! This is my third year at Las Lomas, and I am beginning my 27th year of teaching. I spent 24 years teaching middle school reading. My first 6 years were in Judson ISD, then I had the privilege of opening Tejeda Middle School and taught there for 18 years. I enjoyed serving as department chair and had an abundance of amazing students. I love teaching higher level thinking skills and digging deeper into literature. Good readers are good thinkers and writing is an art!
I am blessed with two fantastic daughters. My oldest daughter is teaching second grade in Comal ISD and my youngest works in internal audit at Valero. Both of my girls are pursuing a master's degree. In addition to spending time with family & friends, I enjoy outdoor activities and staying active. Reading has been a passion for me since I was a child - so I love sharing good books with my students.
