*Distance Learning Announcement, March 18, 2019*
I know many students and parents are confused and frustrated at this time. It is a challenging period for sure. As I'm sure you have heard, we are set to go forth with a distance learning curriculum beginning Monday March 23. There will be two ways students can access assignments starting on this date. First, assignments will be posted on our Google Classroom page. I know all of you have been given the code for this site, but if for some reason anyone still needs it, the code is obczzo2 and this should grant students access to the World History page. The seond way students may obtain the assignments is by picking up a paper copy of the assignments in packet form. These can be picked up each Monday, beginning on March 23. Packets will be located in front of Johnson High School and will be separated by teacher name. Students may choose either option, but please be sure to do the assignments, as they will serve as our grades as long as we are not allowed to be in school. Lastly, if you have questions, please email me so we can figure all this out together. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org and I am available from 8:00-4:30 Monday through Friday. Please stay safe and take care of yourself and I will see you all when school resumes.
The 2019-2020 school year will be my 20th year to teach and coach and my fourth year at Johnson. I am very excited to be a part of the academic and athletic tradition at CTJ. Everyday is a great day to be a Jaguar!
Prior to my time at CTJ, I served for 10 years as the Head Golf Coach and Assistant Athletic Coordinator at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. Before that I coached Football and Track in Midland ISD and Wylie ISD for 6 years. This year will be my 16th year to teach World History as well.
I attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas (Go Roos!) and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in History in 2000. I received my Masters Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2009.
My wife Jennifer teaches 2nd grade at Encino Park. I have a son named Kyle who is a 10th grader here at Johnson and a daughter named Jules who is a 6th grader at Tejeda. We are all excited to be a part of the Johnson family!
I look forward to a successful year in the classroom and on the golf course. Please contact me with any questions.
