Degrees and Certifications:
B.A. in Anthropology- University of Massachusetts at Amherst Certified Social Studies, Special Education, and English as a Second Language Supplemental.
I grew up in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the small coastal town of Salisbury. I graduated from Triton Regional High School in 2006 and was very active in theater and athletics. I attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Secondary Major in History. While at University, I was a member of the Citizen Scholars Program, an academic service learning program that emphasized leadership and community organizing.
After college I joined Teach For America and moved to the Rio Grande Valley to begin my career in education. From 2010-2013 I taught at Donna High School and then worked at Donna North High School from 2013-2015. I was recognized as the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year for Donna North High School and then as the Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Donna Independent School District. In 2015 I joined Madison's faculty. I currently teach U.S. History and Advanced Placement Psychology.
I love to travel and have been to Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. My dog Bruno is the perfect adventure companion and you can catch us swimming in the river or hiking during the summer.
