Ms. Karen Doss

I am beginning my 24th year at Madison High School in the mathematics department and my 29th year of teaching.  I graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where I also played women's tennis for the TCU Horned Frogs.  I'm looking forward to motivating, guiding, teaching, mentoring, and leading my talented students for the school year 2017-2018.  Also see my web page at www.karendossjm.weebly.com for files.

  • Geometry Contents

Geometry is approximately 1/3 geometry concepts problems, 1/3 memorization for vocabulary, postulates, and theorems, and 1/3 algebra skills. This class uses a discovery method to teach many concepts. Pre-AP students are expected to be able to think for themselves and problem solve. Group activities will allow for math discussions often. Students must do the homework to be prepared for quizzes and tests. Absences greatly hinder progress in a math class because math is what is called a “building block” subject—each day depends upon the previous day’s knowledge and learning. When a student is absent, please look at the syllabus to see what was planned and teach yourself via the files on this teacher web site under the Topic # or on www.karendossjm.weebly.com.
