Ms. Haley "Katie" Hodge
I'm beyond excited to start my second year at MacArthur High School! I graduated magna cum laude with my Bachelors of Science at the University of Texas Pan-American (now a part of UT Rio Grande Valley) in the Spring of 2014, majoring in Social Studies and minoring in English and Business Administration. My college experience took me on a variety of adventures. I began my college experience with a trip to Italy to sing high mass in St.Peter's Basilica as a part of the UT Brownsville Master Chorale, spent the summer of 2012 studying abroad in France, and finished my college career by participating in the Bill Archer Fellowship Program in Washington, D.C. I started teaching English the fall after graduation, and haven't looked back! During my first two years, I taught English IV, English RTI, and College Writing, while also coaching UIL Extemporaneous Speaking and JV/Varsity Cheerleading. This year at MacArthur, I'll be teaching English I On-Level, English I Pre-AP, and English I Pre-AP/GT.
To my freshmen: from one new Brahma to another, "Welcome to the Herd!" Parents, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to all the great things this year will hold!
