Mrs. Spencer Cox, M.A.
I am originally from Nacogdoches, Texas. I graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, including a double minor in Psychology and Sociology from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2003. In 2010, I graduated with honors receiving a Master of Arts in English Literature from UTSA, although I completed the majority of my MA coursework at Texas A&M in College Station where my husband received his BA in Biomedical Science and Wildlife and Fisheries Science in 2000. My concentration of study was 18th/19th/20th Century British and American Literature, with my Theory being based in Gender Studies. I have been married to my husband, Davin, since 2003. We have a son, named Hayden, who was born in 2007. In March of 2009 we completed our family when we welcomed our daughter, Peyton. My children are my daily inspiration. My mother was a Librarian for 32 years, my aunt (her sister) was my English teacher twice in high school. Those two women instilled a love for education within my heart for which I will forever be grateful. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with family and friends (especially Mrs. Clark-Gonzales and Ms. Moyer :) ), running marathons, running obstacle races (with my husband), dancing, cooking, reading, etc. I am also an avid football (especially Fightin' Texas Aggie Football-Gig 'em!) and soccer fan as both of our kiddos play club soccer year round. The 2018-2019 school year is my my eighth year here at Mac. I adore this school and my department; I am blessed to be part of the Mac family. I am looking forward to this year at Mac and preparing my students for college and/or a career after high school.
