Konise Millender




Konise Millender is an educator, advisor and filmmaker. She has served as the digital film and animation producer and instructor at the North East School of the Arts for more than a decade. (She previously taught photography and journalism at Lee). She has produced hundreds of films that have screened at places, such as Toronto, Sundance and the Los Angeles Film Festival. She has worked for NBC New York and the Latino Film Festival and she has also served as a judge for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Ms. Millender has been twice awarded The President's Volunteer Service Award for her commitment to teaching and advocating for young adults. She is currently working to recruit more disadvantaged students into college preparatory programs. She also serves on the board of the Digital Video & Cinema Production Advisory Board, is a youth mentor and volunteer for the San Antonio Branch Act-so competition. Ms. Millender is an active member of the National School Reform Initiative organization. She has a Bachelor's in Communications: radio, television and film, a Master of Arts in Teaching and her Masters in administrative- educational leadership from Trinity University.

 Ms. Millender was recently accepted into the NEISD Administrative Intern Program where she will be fast-tracked into an administrative position. She was conferred by the board of trustees in September.
