Mrs. Gloria Oropez

Hello my name is Gloria Oropez and I will be teaching U.S. History Advanced Placement and Dual Credit classes (San Antonio College) at Winston Churchill High School for the 2017-2018 school year.

This year will be my ninth year at Churchill, and my twenty-first  as an educator.   I received my B.A. and M.A. in History from the University of Texas-Pan American and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas-San Antonio.

I am originally from the Rio Grande Valley but moved here fifteen years ago.  My husband, Steven, is an assistant principal at Eisenhower Middle School, and we have three children: two daughters, age eighteen and twelve, and a thirteen year old son.  Also part of our family are our two dogs, Coco, and TOD.

I am looking forward to meeting you all this year and getting to know all my new students.
I hope you all have  a restful and fun filled summer and are ready to learn more about the history of your country. Of more importance, however, is to learn where YOU fit  into all of this.  Where YOUR story began and where YOU will take it.
