Mr. Aaron Sherwood

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from O'Connor High School in NISD in 2010. After high school, I quickly attended college at Northwest Vista College to earn an Associate degree in Teaching & then I transferred to Texas A&M University-San Antonio to earn a Bachelor degree in History with Social Studies Teacher Certification in 2016. While studying in college, I worked full time in the medical field as a receptionist at MacGregor Medical Center for eight years before becoming a social studies teacher with North East Independent School District.

While attending Texas A&M University-San Antonio, I was a member of Student Government Association, a member of Phi Alpha Theta (national history honors society), & President of my Pre-Law Society.

As a senior at A&M-San Antonio, I completed my student teaching mentoring freshman in World Geography at Holmes High School & their magnet school Business Careers High School with NISD. This will be the beginning of my fifth year with Ed White Middle School in NEISD as a social studies teacher. I started teaching 7th grade Texas History for two years and now teach 8th grade U.S History for the third year.

I currently have two teacher certifications, Social Studies (4-8) & Social Studies (7-12)

My goals this year is to develop a comfortable & safe learning environemnt that is contagious enough for the majority of my students to foster life long learning. I also want to remain an active member in my district's community to maintain positive relationships throughout my campus and district community.
