This is my fourth year with the Design and Technology Academy! I LOVE what I do and am excited to teach algebra this year! My goal is to help students feel successful in math and I will do anything to make that happen!
I graduated from BYU-Provo with a BS in Recreational Management & Youth Leadership. I earned by Master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership through Lamar University. Ed White is the only home I have known since I joined North East ISD, and I'm happy to be housed on the same campus. We're making great things happen.
I want you to know that I will do everything I can to help your child succeed. Together, we can grow them as mathematicians and incredible human beings ready to take on and improve the world in which we live. Know that I will push your child outside their comfort zone because that is how we grow. We work hard, have fun, and practice growth and math mindset. Everyone can be a "math person." We embrace mistakes in my classroom, because mistakes are opportunities to learn. We value both individuality and collaboration. I encourage outside the box thinking and expect students to help each other in this mathematical adventure.
I'm honored that my colleagues elected me their Teacher of the Year for 2016 and I was recognized as a Top 3 Finalist for district Teacher of the Year. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my instruction by attending conferences, reading, and making tweaks as I grow. I've also had several opportunities to lead professional development sessions on my campus and at the district level to share my passion and ideas with others.
Your child is in good hands. Their greatest success will come from us joining forces and working together for their best interest. If you ever have concerns, don't hesitate to contact me. Let's change lives!
