Degrees and Certifications:
In 1993, I began my career as an educator in Nixon-Smiley C.I.S.D., working in a district wide life skills class. I then taught in Carrollton- Farmer's Branch I.S.D., in a "support center" class for 1st - 3rd grade children from 1995 to 1999. They had moderate to severe multiple handicaps. I accepted a position in 1999, in the A.L.E. program at Madison High School, here in North East I.S.D. I remained there teaching science, language arts, reading, community based instruction and health, until 2013. At that point, I decided to make a change and work with middle school students. I requested a transfer to Ed White and subsequently, got offered the position as their A.L.E. teacher. It is the best decision I have ever made. I love this school and all of it's diversity.
