Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. Deaf Education Master of Deaf Education and Hearing Science
Mrs. Abby Streitz
Welcome! My name is Abby Streitz and I'll be teaching AI reading and resource this year. These are my two favorite classes, so I am very much looking forward to the new school year. I began working with the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf in the 2010-11 school year. Prior to my work here, I taught elementary aged students at Louisiana School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My undergraduate degree is from The Univerisity of Tennessee in Knoxville and my graduate degree is from The University of Texas Health Science Center here in San Antonio. Both degrees are in Deaf Education and Hearing Science.
My passion is teaching reading. I love reading and enjoy sharing that love with my students. My goal each year is to push my students as readers. Nothing makes me as happy as seeing a student pick up a book for independent reading, or listening to a student tell me about a book he/she is excited about.
