Dr. Caleb Hood

This is my 16th year of teaching. I taught English and reading at Barbara Bush MS for five years. I have also taught  9th and 10th grade English, Marine Corps JROTC, leadership theory, and I have coached swimming, diving, cycling and triathlon at Marine Military Academy.

I retired from the United States Marine Corps Reserve after twenty four years.  I enjoyed my time in the active Marine Corps, but I felt that there were other things that were pulling me to a profession that was meant for me.  I left active service in the Marines in 1998 and went into the Marine Reserves right here in San Antonio (4th Reconnaissance Battalion).

I attended Abilene Christian University majoring in English and management.  I met my wife, Brooke, of eightteen years while attending school at Abilene.  We have three children, all of them girls.  Cameron, Phoebe, and Georgia. I earned a M.ed. in reading from Sam Houston State University in 2010, and a PhD in interdisciplinary learning and teaching from UTSA in the fall of 2019.

On my spare time you will find me on a bike or with my family.
