Originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, Mr. Lugo discovered his passion for teaching when stationed in Italy while serving for the United States Air Force. There he began volunteering as a youth basketball coach and soon realized that he wanted to devote himself to educating and coaching youth. After his tour in Italy, Mr. Lugo made a tough decision to separate from the armed forces to complete his education and pursue a career as an educator and coach. This decision brought Mr. Lugo and his family to San Antonio where he completed his Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio and is now a dedicated mathematics teacher at Garner Middle School and former basketball and golf coach.

On his spare time, Mr. Lugo enjoys spending quality time with his gorgeous wife and two young boys. They frequently visit surrounding swimming areas to splash and escape the Texas heat. As a family, they love sharing a delicious brick oven pizza from various locally owned pizza parlors. The Lugo’s dedicate their Sunday's to family, worship and cookouts.
