Ms. Chandra Tarro

I. General Information

Welcome! I am Ms. Tarro and will be your theatre arts teacher this year. I am excited as we enter the 2020-2021 school year! This will be my tenth-year teaching. All of which have been with NEISD. This will be my seventh year at Eisenhower.

All theatre classes are a full-year, performance oriented course which will engage you in theatrical studies and numerous performance opportunities. We will study acting techniques, human behavior, theatre history, technical theatre, audition techniques, elements of a play, and much more!

I love teaching theatre arts and look forward to returning to one of our three main stage productions very soon. We also compete in two NEISD speech festivals each school year. I first fell in love with theatre right here at Eisenhower back when I was a General! The minute I stepped onto our stage I knew theatre would always be a part of me. I love teaching theatre because we get to study human interactions and learn different ways to creatively express ourselves. In theatre we get to look outside the box and try to understand why people choose to make the choices they do, which create a world of exploration!

I will create a welcoming environment by getting to learn a little bit about every one of my students. In theatre, there is a place for everyone! Whether you love being on a main stage, performing in front of a group of people or you enjoy being behind the scenes working on scenery, lighting, music, costumes, make-up, or props! You can easily find a family in our theatre department.

The best way to communicate with me will be through email, ctarro@neisd.net. I will be sending emails often and on Google Classroom daily.

My basic rule of behavior is making choices that do not interfere with the learning of others, teaching of our class, or performances/presentations.

Fun fact: I, myself, was an Eisenhower General student! In my spare time, if I am not traveling, I am enjoying time with my rescue dogs and family! I am always willing and excited to talk about my four-legged babies!
