Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in Teaching Certified 1-8, PreK-K, Gifted and Talented
I graduated from Wells College, in New York State, with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1975. In 1995 I earned a Masters degree in Education from Trinity University. In between those years as a student, I enjoyed my first career as a stay-at-home-mother. I joined the North East ISD family in 1996 as a Fifth grade teacher at Oak Meadow Elementary School. Over subsequent years I taught at Colonial Hills ES and Hidden Forest ES as a classroom teacher. In 2002 I became certified in Gifted Education. Shortly thereafter, I became the GT teacher at Hidden Forest. I have been part of the Vineyard Ranch staff as the GT Teacher since the school opened in 2012.
I have been honored by my colleagues with the Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2005-2006 and 2015-2016, the Superintendents's Award in 1999 and 2016, the PTA Life Member Award, and the HEB Prize for Excellence in Teaching- Educational Leadership Category.
My goal is to infuse your children with a lifelong love of learning, to empower them to communicate clearly and effectively, and to challenge them with a deep and complex curriculum, to meet the challenges of a future that we can now only imagine.
