I have been working at Northwood for 26 years.  I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1996.  I have a Bachelors of Human Sciences.  I am certified to teach Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade in Early Childhood Education (Self Contained).  I also have my ESL certification. I believe that by experiencing hands-on activities, students can learn in meaningful ways.  I am strong with discipline and follow all district policies.

        I am a student-centered professional educator.  My curriculum is derived solely from the TEKS framework and is centered on developing students by utilizing hands-on, multi-sensory lessons.  I emphasize to my students that they should become life-long readers, mathematicians, and writers.  Through positive reinforcement and open communication with students and their families, I create a safe, caring, and comfortable learning atmosphere.  I develop an excellent rapport with children in order to identify and work with their individual needs as they strive for daily success.
