Mrs. Jennifer Cowart

Howdy, Canyon Ridge Coyotes! I'm Mrs. Cowart and I am excited to bring my love of music to all of our students! 

I am starting my 14th year of teaching music, but my first year of teaching with NEISD. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and found the instrumental love of my life when I started playing trumpet in 4th grade. This love grew into a passion for teaching music when I got to lead sectional rehearsals in high school. My band director inspired me to attend Furman University in Greenville, SC to get my bachelor's in music education. My trumpet professor at Furman inspired me to attend the Yale School of Music where I got my master's in trumpet performance. Since then, I've taught elementary, middle, and high school band. Most recently, I was the music specialist at Lakeview Middle School in Amarillo, TX. I've been living in San Antonio for the past 5 years with my husband, three kids, golden retriever, and cat. I love to bake, lift weights, read, hike, and camp. Let's all have a great year!
