Ms. Rebecca Engle
Hello!
I'm Rebecca Engle, and I'm excited about beginning my journey at Serna Elementary. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with minors in literacy, history, and special education from Incarnate Word. I’m also pursuing a master’s in Educational Policy and Leadership, focusing on Special Education Law at Texas Tech.
My educational journey began in NEISD when I was nine, starting at Bulverde Creek Elementary. I then attended Tex Hill Middle School as part of their inaugural 6th-8th grade class and later went to Johnson High School. It was during my internship at Cibolo Green Elementary in High School that I discovered my passion for teaching. Outside the classroom, I enjoy knitting, writing, and volunteering.
As a special education teacher, my goal is to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters each student's unique strengths and helps them achieve their full potential. Growing up, I had some learning delays and was on an IEP until 5th grade. These experiences have profoundly influenced my approach to teaching and my commitment to creating a supportive and encouraging environment for all students.
