Ms. Rendon

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I am looking forward this new school year. This is my 11th year at Harmony Hills Elementary. I started at Harmony Hills as a PE Paraprofessional for half a year and  a Special Education Paraprofessional  for a year and a half. I then became a 4th grade teacher and taught for 8 years. This will be my second year in 3rd grade. I have a Bachelors Degree in Interdisplinary Studies and  I am ESL Certified.

I am a mother of  five beautiful children. I have three young adult children and twp school age kids. My niece and great nephew also add a little extra sparkle to my big family.  My family is the center of my attention  My "happy place" is going to the beach and enjoying the sun, sand and water. All my  beach vacations, family traditions and celebrations always include the family.     Going to the movie, gathering the family  to play Loteria (Mexican Bingo) including having family game night, water ballon fights in the back yard, and make smores are the simple things in life that are important to me and that make up our crazy, chaotic family life!

Several academic  goals I have for my students this school year is for them to give 100% effort in every subject, and in all their work.   Also, I want the 3rd graders to take on the 40 Book Challenge, where they read 40  books from different genres by the end of the school year.

I love to incorporate music and  dance in my teaching. "Whole Brain" teaching is used alot in my class. Additionally, "accountable talks" will  also be incorporated. It  will create a classroom thinkers and learners by working together in small groups. It will also  be a great way for students to challenge one another and to "prove" their  answers with fellow students.  .
