Welcome the Third Grade!
I am thrilled to be starting my 19th year of teaching 3rd grade at Hardy Oak this year! Whether we will be learning online or in the classroom, I am committed to giving my all to your children and will love them and do all I can to make sure they are happy and successful!
As far as my background, I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
My husband of 33 years and I, both grew up in Chicago , met in Kansas, and lived in California for 17 years before moving to Texas in 2000. I stayed at home when our three children were young, and went back to work after moving here to Texas.
Our oldest son, Alex, is working here in San Antonio. Our middle daughter, Lindsey, had been working and living in Uganda, for 5 1/2 years. She has moved back and recently received her masters degree from Brandeis University in Boston. Our youngest daughter, Kelsey, is working for Google in San Francisco and loving it there!! Since they are working remotely, we have been lucky to have her home for most of the summer!
My parents are both 93 and conveniently live next door to me! I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with them and to help them through some difficult health issues. - they do keep me on my toes!!
I am a dog lover and have a 4 year old labradoodle, name Kayli. I have wanted a playmate for Kayli for a while now, so with being home so much, I thought it was the perfect time to get her a sister! Shasta, our new labradoodle is 4 months old now! My carpets have never been cleaner. ( I am having to shampoo them quite often! haha )
I know that this year is going to be a "different" year, but I am going to make sure that your children are happy, learning, reading, and comfortable with working online with me! I am looking forward to getting to know you all in order to make this a great 2020-2021 school year!
