Welcome to my web page! Teaching students and encouraging their love of learning has been my goal since my childhood and I feel very blessed to have a "job" that is not a job but a purpose for my life. My teaching career spans more than two decades and includes being part of Hardy Oak from the beginning.
I love all the aspects of teaching, the relationships with my colleagues, the support of the administration, a close relationship with parents, and especially the bond I share with my students. It is amazing to see the growth they achieve in one year! The NEISD curriculum provides exciting units that provide challenges for all.
My beautiful daughter Dana, graduated in 2002 from Churchill High School and was accepted into the Theater Arts Program at Fordham University, New York, New York! She has since graduated with her degree and is working as a costume designer. Her Dad and I are very proud of her. She is currently working on the show "Elementary", and "Master of None". She loves her work, but, unfortunately, New York is very far away and I miss her very much! She enjoys coming home to her Texas roots, if only for a vacation.
It is an honor to be your child's teacher and I look forward to working together with you to make this a memorable year for your student! Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
Together for our children, Ms. Covarrubias
